i just sang the b-day song after years of trying not to participate in b-day celebrations ( i was just a student never a jw) it felt good celebrating a b-day party with "wonderful" (not "worldly) people.

by Bryan inalong the lines of old soul's plea to afin, and afin's in abiltily to provide scriptual guidance/proof/support for old soul's questions; i began to think.. have you ever given guidance/support/councel with the written publications because there were no scriptures?.
when i was a mini-servant around 1984, there was a "brother" who would brag about his oral sex encounters with his new wife.
i knew it was "wrong" (also a little crude), but i coundn't find a scripture for the councel.

when i was young, i was allowed to sing jingle bells and frosty the snowman, because they were less christmasy. i remember mouthing the words to the other songs so that i wouldnt get in trouble at school for not participating.

if you can be born again, and at the same time anti-organized religion, that's what i am. i started by reading the NT, then i went to a protestant church to take communion. i consider myself born again in the way that i have died to cultism and raised to christianity. but... maybe i have it all wrong!!! who knows?

well what if perhaps a person who is a born again christian attends with a friend who is a witness and partakes of the bread and wine (which they most certainly would do... even if they are the only ones partaking)... the brothers count this person as a partaker, don't they?

but the fun thing is the roundabout way this change is announced.
knowing that the news would be a bitter pill to swallow (there should be a 'speeding up' of the preaching work, not a downsizing), the watchtower only announces the move to monthly publishing by the end of the article.

wow! im surprised they would announce something that is going to happen nine months away... a lot of jdubs are going to respond by saying, "well if they have such big plans so far away, then for sure armageddon isn't coming before those nine months because Jehovah wouldn't allow them to spend so much time and money just to have armageddon come before they even get to see their plans through"
